What Changes When I Read the Bible?
Many things we do day to day are done with the intent of resulting in change. For example, we count calories and exercise to change our weight downward and our health upward. We study hard for a test and pay attention in class in order to change a C into an A. We brew a cup of coffee at home instead of stopping at Scooter’s every morning in order to change our bank account balance. We go to bed at 10 p.m. instead of 1 a.m. in order to change how we feel when the alarm goes off at 5:30 a.m. And the list goes on….
This week, we will respond to the question “What changes when I read the Bible?” We will review several Biblical texts to establish the necessity and desire for regular Bible reading in our lives and the changes that come about from it.
We will begin with the text of 1 Thessalonians 2:13 and look at a few others as well. Bring your Bibles!
